“Despite the growing size, the international student population has become less diverse over the past two decades, with concentrations increasing in some source countries, provinces of study and fields of study. IRCC is exploring source-country diversification strategies for Canada`s international student program, as well as ways to encourage students to look beyond major urban centres when choosing a program of study. Applications for the new trail will be accepted from May 6, 2021 to November 5, 2021, or until the cap for this particular stream is reached. A condition of the CEC is that work experience gained during full-time studies does not count towards the 12-month requirement, so international students cannot count towards work experience gained during their studies. However, once an international student graduates, they will likely be eligible for a post-graduation work permit, which will allow them to gain the work experience required to qualify for the CEC. Earlier this year, Randeep Sarai, a Liberal MP, introduced a motion calling on the government to develop a plan to expand immigration routes. Now, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has released a strategy to do just that, and it focuses on the link between immigration programs and skills shortages in the Canadian economy. This may be helpful if you have applied for the TR to PR pathway, but your current permit for Canada expires before you receive your new permanent resident status. See details on the link above. Government of Canada news release: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2021/04/new-pathway-to-permanent-residency-for-over-90000-essential-temporary-workers-and-international-graduates.html To apply for the TR-to-PR pathway with the temporary health worker or temporary worker in other essential occupations, you must meet the following eligibility criteria: International graduates did not register during the pandemic just well beaten. Despite the multitude of opportunities available to post-graduation work permit (PGWP) holders to become permanent residents of Canada, the non-renewable approval rule has derailed many long-term settlement plans due to delays in processing PR applications. These special public policies will grant permanent status to temporary workers and international college graduates already in Canada who have the skills and experience we need to fight the pandemic and accelerate our economic recovery.

He said the government is designing a sustainable policy that is not motivated by an emergency, so that the new path can become a “clear path” for those who want to settle permanently in Canada. Speaking to CBC News, Andrew Griffith, a former senior IRCC official, remarked, “There are so many ways to immigrate to Canada. And I`m not convinced that anyone applying in Canada — or even the people who are trying to administer the program — has complete control over the program. So I think there is a real reason to simplify. There are many immigration programs for international students. While each program operates differently and has requirements beyond the Canadian Studies Diploma, the programs listed below may offer international graduates fast-track pathways to becoming permanent residents of Canada: Table 3: Craft trades accepted after a degree, diploma, certificate or attestation that does not reach the minimum duration. It should be noted that the FSW program requires candidates to demonstrate that they have at least 12 months of continuous full-time qualified work experience acquired in any country, or an equivalent amount of part-time experience. For international students who have never entered the workforce, this program is not an option.

It will allow a whole new group of people to apply for permanent residence who would not have been able to meet the eligibility criteria for other programs, such as the Canadian Experience Class. All new permanent residents must undergo a medical examination by a licensed physician. As described above, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced a new pathway to permanent residence for individuals already residing in Canada who are temporary workers or graduates of Canadian post-secondary institutions. As IRCC accepts 40,000 international students as permanent residents, I look forward to submitting my application on May 6, 2021. After reading the eligibility requirements for this program, I wondered on which link and on which documents I should submit my applications. And we`re back! This session began with how our government wants to expand pathways to permanent residence for temporary foreign workers and international students.
